In the car

Me:  So, Grandma and Grandpa and Great-Grandma Miriam are coming for dinner tomorrow.  What do you think we should have for dinner?

Wrenna:  Hmm...I don't know.  Maybe brussels sprouts or something like that?  Or maybe strawberries?

Dash:   Brussels sprouts would be pretty good.  And maybe we could have some duck to eat. 

Me:  Duck's pretty expensive.  Is there something else you think we could have?

Dash:  No, I mean duck meat.  We could have duck meat for dinner. 

Me:  Maybe enchiladas? 

Dash:  Enchiladas and duck meat!

Wrenna:  And brussels sprouts!

(I just typed "duck brussels sprouts strawberries recipe" into Google to see if there was some gross-sounding recipe I could make into cutesy little joke, but, nope, apparently they have their finger on the pulse of family dinners.)

Some sort of steamed pudding?

Here's how Dash described something in the car this morning in this way:  Good, warm, nice, sticky.

I swear, I was so teary that if "Sunrise, Sunset" had come over the radio this morning I would have taken out the two right lanes of Lake Shore Drive.

Other big boy things Dash did this weekend:

1. Ate an ice cream cone with sprinkles
2. Used a hammer to drive a nail into a paint stirrer
3. Peed standing up
4. Kicked back and fell asleep as soon as we hit cruising altitude on the way to and from Tampa.   (Hooray!)
